NE-HUSH-TA = NE-TANYA-HU

NEHUSHTA

Scripture Reference2 Kings 24:8

Name Meaning—A piece of brass

Nehushta is allied to Nehushtan (2 Kings 18:4). She was the daughter of Elnathan, a well-known Jerusalem man, and became the wife of the ungodly Jehoiakim, Josiah’s eldest son (Jeremiah 26:22). When King Nebuchadnezzar subdued Jehoiakim’s kingdom, his mother, Nehushta, followed him in captivity at Babylon. Nothing is said of the queen-mother’s character. As her son emulated the evil ways of his father, it is assumed that the mother’s character was evil as well
